About SaveInDrive
A cloud transfer utility for Google Drive. Move files directly into your Drive without them ever touching your local device.
What SaveInDrive Does
SaveInDrive transfers shared Google Drive files, nested folder trees, and direct HTTP/HTTPS download links into your personal Google Drive account. The file payload moves through SaveInDrive's cloud servers directly into Google Drive via the official Google Drive API v3 Resumable Upload protocol. Your local device does not need to download or store the file at any point.
This is useful for people on limited local storage (Chromebooks, smartphones), metered mobile connections, or anyone who needs to move large open datasets or archives directly into cloud storage without a local staging step. Learn more in our step-by-step guide or free tools.
Founder, Leadership & Engineering Team
SaveInDrive was conceived, architected, and designed by Akash Kumar Singh and Team Dilwado (dilwado.com) in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India.
Akash Kumar Singh is a technology entrepreneur, full-stack software engineer, and UI/UX designer from Ranchi, Jharkhand. He completed his Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Sarala Birla University, Ranchi. Bringing deep expertise in scalable cloud protocols, API integrations, and human-centered interface design, Akash created SaveInDrive as a zero-local-storage utility that streams remote web downloads and shared Google Drive payloads straight into user storage.
Akash is also the founder of Dilwado (dilwado.com). SaveInDrive serves as a cornerstone cloud streaming technology in the Dilwado ecosystem, reflecting a commitment to high-speed, secure, and privacy-first web utilities engineered with zero local disk retention.
What SaveInDrive Does Not Do
- Does not circumvent, evade, or bypass Google's security controls or API usage policies.
- Does not permanently store your files on our servers. File data passes through volatile in-memory buffers only.
- Does not access your Google Drive beyond files you explicitly initiate a transfer for.
- Does not guarantee any specific speed, completion rate, or supported file size. Performance depends on the source host, Google Drive API quota conditions, and your account's available storage.
- Does not work for content that is DRM-protected, behind authentication walls that require browser rendering, or otherwise prohibited from programmatic access.
How Google OAuth Access Works
SaveInDrive uses Google OAuth 2.0. When you connect your Google account, you grant a temporary, revocable
access token scoped to https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. This scope gives SaveInDrive
write access only to files and folders that SaveInDrive itself creates in your Drive.
It cannot read, modify, or delete pre-existing files in your Drive.
You can revoke this access at any time from your Google Account Permissions page. For the complete data handling disclosure, see our Google API Disclosure.
Technical Architecture
SaveInDrive is built with Python (FastAPI). Core technical characteristics:
- Google Drive API v3 for all file operations
- HTTP Resumable Upload protocol (RFC 7235 Range Requests) for reliable large-file ingestion
- In-memory (volatile RAM) stream buffering — no intermediate files written to server disk
- Exponential backoff with jitter for transient API errors (HTTP 429, 503, 500)
- SQLite-backed transfer state ledger for resume recovery on interrupted sessions
Compliance
SaveInDrive complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell, rent, or use your Google account data for advertising targeting, AI training, or any purpose beyond operating the transfer service. We comply with DMCA takedown requirements — see our DMCA Policy.
