Google API & OAuth 2.0 Disclosure

Last updated: October 2026

SaveInDrive uses Google OAuth 2.0 to access Google Drive on your behalf. This page explains exactly what permissions we request, how we use them, what data we do not access, and how you can revoke access. This disclosure is required by and compliant with the Google API Services User Data Policy.

OAuth Scope Used

Scope What It Allows Why SaveInDrive Needs It
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file Read and write access only to files and folders created or opened by SaveInDrive To create destination folders and upload transferred files into your Google Drive

We do not request https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive (full Drive access) or any other broader scope. The drive.file scope means SaveInDrive cannot read, list, modify, or delete any file in your Drive that was not created through a SaveInDrive transfer session.

What Data We Access

  • Your Google account email address (to display your connected account in the UI)
  • The files and folders SaveInDrive creates in your Google Drive during active transfer sessions
  • Your Google Drive storage quota information (to warn you before attempting a transfer that would exceed your quota)

What Data We Do Not Access or Store

  • We do not access any pre-existing files in your Google Drive.
  • We do not store your Google account password or long-term credentials on our servers.
  • We do not permanently store the file payload of your transfers on our servers. File data passes through volatile in-memory buffers during the transfer and is immediately discarded.
  • We do not sell, share, or use your Google account data for advertising, analytics, or AI training.
  • We do not use your data for any purpose other than executing the file transfer you explicitly initiated.

How to Revoke Access

  1. Visit myaccount.google.com/permissions
  2. Find "SaveInDrive" in the list of connected apps
  3. Click "Remove Access"

Alternatively, click "Disconnect" in the SaveInDrive header while logged in. This clears the session token from our system immediately.

Limited Use Compliance

SaveInDrive's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy Limited Use requirements, including:

  • We only use your data to provide and improve the SaveInDrive transfer service.
  • We do not transfer your data to third parties, except as necessary to provide the service.
  • We do not use your data for serving advertisements.
  • We do not allow humans to read your data unless you have given us explicit permission, it is necessary for security purposes, or it is required by law.
