On macOS, a Final Cut Pro Library (.fcpbundle) looks like a single clickable document. In reality, it is a macOS file packageβa folder containing thousands of nested proxy files, optical flow analysis files, timeline databases, and uncompressed optical render caches that easily exceed 200GB. Dragging a .fcpbundle into Google Drive in Chrome breaks the package structure, resulting in a damaged, unopenable library.
Before archiving an FCP library: (1) Inside Final Cut Pro, select the Library > File > Delete Generated Library Files > Delete Render Files (All) to instantly strip 70% of the folder weight; (2) Compress the package into a single continuous .zip or .dmg container; (3) Stream the archive into Google Drive using SaveInDrive.
